Built by a founder.
Run with conviction.

Ver3 is the private investment office of Sumir Karayi, founded after more than two decades building and scaling 1E from inception to a global enterprise software business. The portfolio is diversified across public and private markets, credit, real assets, and alternatives — constructed with the same long-term discipline and independent judgement that defined the founder's operating career.

Capital built through patience and conviction deserves to be stewarded the same way.

Ver3 was founded on the belief that the principles which create exceptional businesses — rigorous thinking, long-term perspective, and genuine conviction — are the same principles that should guide how the resulting capital is managed. We invest selectively, think independently, and act with the discipline of operators who have built, scaled, and exited businesses of real consequence.

Long Horizon

We measure investment success in years and decades, not quarters. Structural advantages compound only for those willing to hold.

Operator Insight

Founded by an operator who scaled a business over two decades, we bring a founder's understanding of risk, management quality, and competitive moats.

Selective Conviction

We concentrate capital in high-conviction ideas rather than diversifying away from insight. Fewer, deeper positions with strong downside discipline.

The Team

Founder & Principal

Sumir
Karayi

Sumir is one of the UK's most accomplished technology entrepreneurs. He founded 1E — a pioneering enterprise software company focused on IT efficiency and digital employee experience — and grew it organically over more than 20 years from a start-up into a global business with over 40 patents.

In 2021, Sumir sold a majority stake in 1E to the Carlyle Group, one of the world's foremost private equity firms, in a landmark transaction that recognised 1E's leadership in autonomous endpoint management. The business was subsequently acquired by TeamViewer in a transaction valuing 1E at $720 million, cementing its status as a significant exit in UK enterprise software.

Sumir is a board-level advisor and speaker on agentic AI for scaling technology companies, a member of Boardwave's AI Committee, and founder of the Fair Chance Foundation, a UK charity advancing educational opportunity for disadvantaged children.

Chief Financial Officer

William
Edmondson

William is a seasoned finance executive with over 30 years of experience in senior financial leadership, primarily within the technology and software sector. He read Economics at university before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with PricewaterhouseCoopers, giving him the rigorous technical foundation he credits as central to everything that followed.

After early roles in media at ITV, William moved into the software industry, progressing to Regional Finance Director at Autodesk with responsibility for $1 billion of revenues across Europe, India, the Middle East, and Africa. He then served as CFO of IDOX plc, a UK-listed document management company, overseeing a period of significant growth through acquisition.

William joined 1E in 2013, leading global finance, legal, and HR functions. He played a defining role in the company's transformation — including its successful transition to a subscription licensing model — ahead of the Carlyle and TeamViewer transactions. At Ver3, he brings that same discipline to protecting capital, ensuring structural rigour, and enabling sound long-term stewardship.
